Well, he actually lived an extraordinary life and had a story to tell.
I've only known him from a distance, and been amazed by the anecdotes. He flew in the times when aviation was an adventure, and quick wits and a good dose of luck were needed to survive.

Turn off the "douche" mode for a little while and try to keep some perspective.
A real aviation enthusiast who would have seen more in his lifetime than most, Chic was a real pilot, not a snowflake wannabe.

RIP Chic. The saddest aspect of looking through all the wonderful photos he had on his website, was the realisation of how much the Swires respected and treated the aicrew well back in those days. You can see the pride he has in working for the 'firm'. Shocking what has come to pass.

There are certain people in power who would not, and should not, be in those positions were in not for certain 'great architects' if you know what I mean.
As for Chic, what a great life, the stories he could tell of what it was like back then.

Agree with Traf. Chic (and many old timers like me) would be shocked and disappointed at the toxic relationship the so-called Managers now have with aircrew. Stupid stupid stupid - all you Oxbridge 'yes men'.
