“Question 1”
On a WAC you notice the Tyre looks under-deflated:
Do you:
1. Ask the engineer to look at the tyre and if he says it is OK you are good to go
2. Do not say anything as you have 3 or more tires to carry the load
3. Write it in the logbook, it is an observed discrepancy and you need it resolved before flight. The Engineer has to sign it off.
4. An Engineer and ENG IOC know everything and will tell you how to run the Aircraft.
5. All of the above.
6. None of the above.
“Question 2”
You have smoke in the cockpit over the North Pacific Ocean:
Do you:
1. Continue to PANC?
2, Divert to UHPP
3. Divert to an unknown airport with smoke in the cockpit with a 15 knot tailwind with an ILS?
4 The Manager of Line Operations calls you on the phone and demands you to operate the flight out and to use whatever discretion is necessary even when a crew was dispatched on call to cover the flight.
5. All of the above
6. Part of the above.
“Question 3”
You have a double engine surge at top of climb.
Do you:
1. Ask yourself why would both engines surge at the same time. Divert to the nearest airport as a double engine surge is very rare and something sinister may be amiss.
2. Call ENG IOC, explain the problem. ENG IOC says it is good as both engines are running fine now. Continue to Destination.
3. Ignore it, no way our company would operate with counterfeit Mainland parts or have bad fuel.
4. All of the above
5. Some of the above
6. None of the above
“Question 4”
You have an engine surge on takeoff at max thrust
Do you.
1. Contact ENG IOC, explain the problem. Dump fuel and return to departure airport, as you know something must have broke.
2. Contact ENG IOC, explain the problem. ENG IOC says it is fine and you continue on a 207 ETOPS sector.
3. Ignore it. These things happen all the time. The engine is running fine now so everything must be good to go.
