Our Product
We at "The CPG" take our product very seriously. We believe we have one of the best products for a World Class Service Airline.
Compare our First Class Service to the link below and you will see why at "The CPG" we are a class above the rest.
We have strived over the years to get our product to where it is today and our product is a credit to all of us in Management that make decisions on running such a great Cash Cow as "The CPG".
We paid as much detail to our product as we have paid to our rostering/leave system over the last 25 years and both systems and products are far superior than what is on the market today and it shows.
We have cost cut to the point where our product and operational effectiveness have not been affected which is why you see such an increases to our annual salary, benefits and bonuses. These increases are well deserved and we take pride in having such Businessmen in "The CPG".
For those who have flown in our First Class Cabin, you will see no comparison between Our Product and the Product in the attached link.
To Our Bonuses

Wow.....watch the link.....if this is our competition, we're in trouble!
And the Company is focusing it's effort on cutting costs and penny pinching rostering issues like 3-man long haul?

CX isn't the airline it was so stop trying to compare it the ME3.
Compare it to China Southern, China eastern, Air China etc
The airline you joined or thought you joined doesn't exist anymore.
This is it, accept it.

Honestly... who wants to video it all.
And before the flight gets to Savannkhet he's had a shower and mixed a COCKtail.
It's like people who go to a concert and watch it through a 4" iPhone screen.
Emirates can keep pax like that!

And EK is not even the best... you should see the Qatar product. There J class outstrips our F class by a country mile.
and believe it or not, you do actually get the meal of your choice. !!

I flew Qatar recently on a 380, I can safely say their economy product is like our biz product! The IFE was amazing, thousands of channels, on board wifi, the list goes on. We are so far behind the 8 ball in every way.

And why is it their train set? Most of us will be riding this specific train for most or all our careers, while upper management usually rotate through for a few years and then leave for greener Swire pastures... so in my view it is more our train set than theirs! We have more at stake.

Second the sentiments regarding Qatar. In a Clarkson voice "best in the world".
Why anyone would do a Europe to Oz flight via CX/HKG is beyond me.
When I get asked what's best I truthfully say go on SQ or ME3.

The master plan has simply got to be a gradual dumbing down and lowering of CoS at Cathay until, eventually, one of the Southern China 'majors' will buy the rest of the whole sorry outfit. Then the Swires will walk away to their bottling plants and property portfolios with some loose change in their pockets. They couldn't give a stuff about our careers or family life. They already siphon millions off the bottom line to enhance their own personal bank accounts with outrageous bonus payments whilst denying the workforce any share of profits. No wonder the shareholders are in revolt.
The muppets like AT and the staggeringly awful CEO are just that - muppets.
If they wanted to run a decent operation, they knew how to do it 30 years ago. It's difficult to imagine whose idea it was to steer this ship towards the rocks for such a long time with such unwavering incompetence - Sir Adrian himself is the only logical conclusion. A long, slow death for a once magnificent Airline of which we were all justifiably proud. That family needs to take a look in one of their expensive mirrors and be ashamed - very ashamed.

Management just don't have a clue ,
Why would anyone travel on our very average product when you can travel on one of the other ME carriers offering a vastly superior product is beyond me

I know "The Management" is a spoof but please, after seeing those videos of our DIRECT COMPETITORS, do tell us why anyone in their right mind would choose our scruffy, outdated nonsense instead of buying a small " apartment" on the 380?? (Don't hold your breath chaps).

Times have changed
I too used to think about CX and the days of old.
However the way we're thinking and posting now is like us joining Air China and comparing us to the ME3/SIA and expecting it to change, once you face the fact that we're in a different crowd and compare yourself to them it makes life easier.
The leaders of this airline have moved to a different pitch with new goal posts so butting your head against a wall watching the teams on the other field playing will get you no where.
Sorry guys n girls but we're just the players, want to play on that other pitch because of their bling I'm afraid you'd have to leave and try out for them.
They're not better players they just have a flashier team that has more supporters, bigger stadiums & better cheer leaders.
Stick to the pitch you're on and be happy you're now the best there is!
Perhaps think of the team you're now on is called China Pacific, and your league consists of some China teams and other Asian teams around you.
Looking pretty good for that cup at the end of the season now aren't we

Doesn't work.
It's one thing to start as a low cost carrier with the appropriate bizness model, cost structure, and branded as such. Maybe even have enthusiastic players who've bought into the branding and like where they are and where they are going. As well as customers who desire the value of the service. It's even possible to expand this slowly into a more premium class or product when the market supports it.
It's quite another to take a premium product and rebrand it as or allow it to morph into a low cost carrier--along with all the legacy baggage and clientele expecting better.
This isn't a new concept and has been done in other arenas (beer industry, cars, etc.). Often works to go from low to higher, never works going from higher to lower (except possibly post bankruptcy--where the former company essentially re-emerges overnight as a new one).
One is on their way up, the other on their way down. The brand always gets trashed out in the latter and the company fails.
