Dear Curtain
Don't you have anything better to do than constantly gripe about everything?
I understand we all have different ideas on how we would do it, but you seem to take it a step too far.
Please do not run for any position in the AOA. Perhaps a position in a bathroom store would be more suitable....

Personally, I enjoy reading the views of others, whether from the extreme left, or far right. As such, when I read the postings from Curtain Rod, I find many of his posts are quite salient, and if we are honest with ourselves, point out how ineffective our efforts to date have been.
We should all by now know the company will not willingly pay us 1cent more than it has to. While seats are getting filled, (both up front by G day workers and by pax in the cabin) and the schedule is not delayed by other than small amounts, then as far as the company is concerned, they believe they've paid us too much.
When pax stop booking flights, when cockpit seats don't get filled, and when aircraft are significantly delayed or cancelled, then and only then, will you have their attention.
As for how that is achieved, well maybe if the mediator can only come out with "play nice kiddies", because you'll note he is not an Arbitrator, then belatedly, perhaps play nice should be thrown out of the playpen.
Curtain Rod often just sows the seeds of thought.
But like a newspaper, if you don't like the article, don't read it.

clear.right, Actually Mr. Curtain has ONLY one gripe. PAY.
Like most of us, he has difficulty understanding how rostering,FTL's,etc got thrown into the mix & why the NC is even talking about it.

And not to mention, waiting another couple of weeks for the next "mediation" session to be fruitless, buys the Company more of the summer peak period whilst we remain in good faith.
Makes us look pretty damn stupid in my opinion.

cxorsist - if we were ALL like Rod, I would agree that our compensation and conditions would be better, but we aren't all like Rod. It's called being realistic about what we can actually achieve.
Now where is my phone, I'm on a G and should be working.
Please note people - if cxorsist disagrees with your opinion, you must be a G day worker...
1200firm - I 100% agree with everyone on the many issues facing us.
We needed a pay rise last year. We also need to address the many outstanding issues that are well beyond their due date. I too have had more than enough.
However, I feel the bellicose statements, as necessary as they are for inciting thought, would be not in our best interest as a AOA GC member.
