Oh yes. If you look at the diagram in FCOM 3 it goes anti-clockwise so it can be drawn without the dotted walk line crossing itself.

All right, I'll bite. No names for the Checkie (clue he is in the top 15 of the list). Very first sector ever flying for CX. PM sector for me. We land, he sets the parking brake and says "Right, you and me down stairs, right now." Holy crap! I tucked my tail between my legs and followed him to a first class seat where he sat down and said "You are a rude, typical American, and if you don't shape up your not going to make it at Cathay Pacific." I was stunned, as I am a very go easy kind of guy. I humbly said, "I am so sorry, could I ask what I have done so as to make sure to not do it again?" "Absolutely" he said, "When we sat down in our seats in Hong Kong you did not hand me my Jepps wipes or muffs. You just got your own and sat down. Unbelievable." I was aghast, first off, being my first flight, my mental cup was pretty full. I had 2 million things sloshing around my head, handing the COMMANDER his jepps, wipes and muffs didn't even make the list. No joke, in my ERAS reports if he ever complimented me on anything, he would prefix it with..."Considering his nationality and background...he is going quite well at blah blah blah. " Unreal. My wife sure got a kick out of it though.

Most of the former have opted out, leaving the asylum under the control of the inmates.

Don't worry, he was an abused child. Sadly the only place he can wield any power without being laughed at is on the a/c. Retirement will not be kind to him.
On a slight tangent, I bumped into an old face in the sim centre the other day. Guess who is back after retiring very, very early some 10 years ago?? Seems property and wives (like bottles) are not all they are cracked up to be for some

Yes I think I have seen this chap in action.
May I suggest that you always have 2 answers as this creates the appropriate amount of confusion to overcome the uncomfortable moment of stunned silence.
1. I am left handed ... Highly plausible given your seat.
2. Karma is vitally important in Budhism. What you turn clockwise I need to turn anti clockwise . This keeps the a/c in perfect trim.
Maybe the AOA can make themselves useful and produce a handbook.

How about this, a special Ozzie trainer took 20 minutes with demonstrations to show how the clip board with flight plan should be placed on the combing. On and off, without flipping it. What a contribution to aviation training this chap has made. It was clip board ballet for the utterly un-friend able.

So what, so does QF according to my mates there, all Airlines do.
I have only ever had 2 line checks in 20 years that were less than fun, most of our trainers and checkers are really decent people and please don't put them all in the same boat as a select few.
Nearly every FO SO I fly with say that they enjoy working here at CX mainly due to the people they fly with, there will inevitably be exceptions however and this is "life"
