Oh of course Nippi, please tell us all about your wonderful airmanship and what a few thousand feet will do?

In particular to the cabin diff pressure?

I'm talking about descending from FL330 to FL300

Probably they thought, if they really going to have a problem with the doors, then they will reach a lower level a bit faster? And probably being under the majority of traffic on a really busy airway, they have to be concerned less about dealing with other airplanes on the way down, which might have been on weather avoidance? Etc, Etc :

Obviously I don't know all the details what led to the decision of the KA Crew to descent a bit lower but neither do you. But I am sure they had a more complete picture than you and I or some Monday morning aviation quarterback here on pprune

Have any of you ever tried to do a "precautionary descent" in Chinese airspace?
Good Luck!
Agreed. Very true.

In similiar circumstances, over China, if you need to act rapidly it's clearly pointless trying to explain to non english speaking controllers. How about this - declare a Mayday, and descend at a normal rate (or do whatever else you need for the situation pertaining - weather avoidance etc).
Maybe this crew did so.
Lots of BS and publicity to follow such action I guess. And Paperwork out the ass for weeks.

Declare a Mayday. Do what you have to do. Once where you need to be, altitude etc, and everything under control.....downgrade the Mayday?
IMHO of course.

It is clear to everyone in aeronautical circles, that many crews of this outfit are unqualified and inexperienced to complete the task.Combine this with the poor command of the English Language CAD must act now before disaster strikes.

English critic, really?

Dusky Dog,

You've shown such great skill at punctuating your run-on sentences. I'm a bit surprised that someone with such "command" would feel compelled to criticize others regarding their English.

Are you accusing HKA crews of not having a valid ICAO language certification?
