New Lufthansa Car Pool NOT for CX?
I just discovered that the brilliant Lufthansa Car Pool has been taken over to be operated by Hertz recently. Now you can register and book online, nice eh?
One has to create a profile online, in order to rent a car, and although the list of companies authorised is quite comprehensive, I cannot find CX (or Dragonair) in the list. Thai, Air China, Korean and many other airlines are in the list:
https://www.hertzondemand.com/lhcarp...ansa%20Carpool
Has anyone in CX or KA tried to used this service, within the last month, and if so, was it successful?

So maybe OneWorld is excluded entirely?
Well, better to find out NOW than to be standing there to no avail, having to find other options at the last moment!
I have contacted the service, and Hertz (the new operator) advises to contact Lufthansa - yet refuses to supply any contact information other than using the lufthansa website contact (which, in turn, only provides contact for check-in, lost luggage, complaints and so on).

Why don't you.
1/ Call the AOA ( if you're a member, if not JOIN )
2/ get the LH Union contact info
3/ call them and arrange something...

Luftwaffe being in the STAR world, it seems with the new system that ONE is not welcome (any more). Fancy new pre-booking system, as opposed to show-your-crew-id-up-front, allows for filtering of us.
But policemen, immigration officials and postal workers are most welcome.
I got a good deal finding the lowest price via Expedia, and now I am sure I can get the car (class) I want, plus don't have to make it all the way over to that garage.
Yet, I am still waiting for them to return my inquiry, and will report back if it open up to 1W ...

I got a reply to contact my own company, for them to contact Luftie, to ask for us to join the list of approved takers.
Now WHO in the company would do that, same as do ID90?
We cannot reciprocate low car rentals in HK, but incoming crews are welcome to buy a cheap Octopus card
