Australian A330 bases

Hi guys,

Have just heard that Longreach China (Longreach Aviation China) are advertising for China Southern for skippers based in Melbourne on the A330, and are also looking at Auckland and Brisbane. Pay is after tax, so it seems like a reasonable deal - anyone out there flown for China Southern? Im interested to see what they are like as an employer. Thanks in advance - don't think I'm going to pick up an Aussie base any time soon with my current employer!

Don't know about Southern China but an old friend of mine, ex Malev who has a command on an Hainan Air B767 is totally satisfied with his conditions.

Not sure of CSA experience, but a friend of mine went through Longreach for a job in Japan, and said Longreach were able to supply a sim session for him prior to his sim check

Thanks

Hey browsinganch, thanks for the tip on Longreach Aviation China - I got on to them, and they have been great in getting me set with CSA (I'm currently a junior skipper flying for a low cost ozzie airline, and facing the prospect of having to return to the mother ship, of which I am not keen!)

The dead giveaway was "China" and "Good" in the same post. I have a hard time believing any gig in China is "good".

Be very careful of agencies run by pilots. Some older Australian pilots are on record as having let their mates down during Australian aviation's World War Three in the very late eighties.

A good read of the China threads on the South Asia forum in conjunction with a good bullsh!t filter is quite revealing. I operate into China fairly often, and I refer to it as Bizarro World. You really would have to be on your third wife to even consider working for a Mainland Chinese airline.

In this agency's case, the name 'Longreach' probably refers to the 'long reach' they will be making into your pockets for their 'service'.

Funny! Ok, have crossed this one off the list, so who would be the best to go through for this contract?? Parc CAE would have to be the most established, is there anyone else?

China Jobs

To all,

I m a Current 330 CSA captain for the last year. MELB based...
From some of the negative comments ref China , maybe you are right .... But honestly this is the best gig going .... If you can get the job!

So for all those naysayers... Happy for you to stay where you are, as honestly
I am personally pretty protective of ensuring CSA management continue to employ us and " the too many negative vibes " guys dont help that.

I am not with LRC ( another agency called AA) , but I do assist LRC do sim prep for guys etc. So far their presence has initiated other agencies to up the ante with fee returns, loss of licence and other cover ... Which till they arrived on the scene was not happening...

The other negative or vitriolic comments I believe relate to personal issues with sone QF guys in the past... I dont know both sides so wont comment but remember it is easy to use social media with some impunity - so do your own research on the facts I guess..

As far as other agencies go , PARC are not bad... But be aware they might be intoducing a 22000 bond / bank guarantee for NTRs ( others are not doing this )

Asia Aviator are okay too - Danny Lam et al or Morson Wynwith

BAA - Roc Wei is good to his guys ..

Aero pro/ VOR / Rishworth .... Not so sure ... Do your own due diligience ... Ask some KA guys for example...

This job is a bit of a leap of faith but worth the hurdles if you want a change...

I hope this post will be seen as one that is trying to present some facts, not just a slanging match either against China, agencies or other folks... I have given you all some suggestions on several agencies ... Do your own research and make up your own minds.. Remember all crewing companies are there to make a buck... It is for you to select the one that best represents YOUR interests...

So with all the trolls having to come on this thread to push their respective agencies, would seem logical then that people aren't falling over themselves to get there applications in....keep it up, soon they will have to throw more money at it

Pprune Towers....... Well done that man!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, if you really think all the pilots whinging about working for the Chinese (Inc myself) are just bitter/twisted/difficult /never happy, then you truly are delusional and deserve to find out for yourself.

The iceman commeth

Re - read my post mate... I was totally up front about working with LRC... I am not interested in pushing any agency down anyones throat...that only comes back to bite one in the a$$ later ... I am with Asia Aviator at the moment and changing agencies to LRC for the LOL they offer... Several of the current pilots are doing an agency change to various others including TASMAN shortly...
BB is doing a good job of getting guys, so go look at what he offers too... If that is not as independant an approach I dont know what will make you happy. Not going to sling back at you , as I would mot say anything on a forum , I couldnt say to you at the bar, but maybe your the one that should think about what you post?

Oh by the way , at the last NTR screening for ALL agencies guys off the 737 that screened, 4 passed, 3 were Longreach candidates ....so well prepped. however there are no guarantees as several LRC guys ( all Ryanair ) did not pass as well....Ask these guys what they thought of the help they got?

By the way NOT ONE RYANAIR 737 guy passed ( 17 screened in total). The facts speak for themselves. not sure of type rated pass rates...

There are heaps of agencies looking for a slice of the china pie.... All I am suggesting is guys DO THEIR OWN RESEARCH independently of others inputs, mine included!

oh, by the way

Woodja51.

Your post was great right up until you had to throw in this.

"Oh by the way , at the last NTR screening for ALL agencies guys off the 737 that screened, 4 passed, 3 were Longreach candidates ....so well prepped. however there are no guarantees as several LRC guys ( all Ryanair ) did not pass as well....Ask these guys what they thought of the help they got?

Let me guess, you prepped these 3 candidates yourself in the sim? So you are now blowing your trumpet.
Didn't you (Longreach) prep the other several Ryanair pilots that failed?
Do you think CSA don't like Ryanair pilots?
The facts that you give, say that Longreach managed to get 3 out of several
candidates a pass.
How many of these so well prepped guys passed at the interviews before this
round?
I know for a fact that another recruitment company claims to be having an 80% pass rate.

This thread started because of some fake posters pushing their agency.
PPRune Towers, (administration) recognised this and brought it to our attention. Thank you PPRune Towers.

Bottom line, If you work for a recruitment company you really shouldn't get
on here and sell their product because no matter how you try to sugar coat it, you are still doing something that is in YOUR interest.
