Freighter Base Closures

This rumour has been around for a while, but it seems to be gathering steam again over the past few days.
Any information??..... or are we waiting for FOPS to give us 10 weeks to change our lives again.

Related question... Would Euros on potentially closed freighter bases in Europe rather move to Hong Kong or commute on their own time to DXB? Hypothetical, not a rumour, just curious.

I know commuting to ANC is hellacious because the flights are so long, full, and expensive. Some might prefer it to living in HKG, especially if they could keep a preferred port and were able to commute on the freighter.

Answer carefully... Or go to the AOA forums. Perhaps better addressed there.

looking forward to that new BOM base.
Probably the only way to attract "experienced" cadets.

Come on, nobody believes that all of Canada pax will be closed. Maybe YYZ as this was mentioned in one of the HKAOA updates 1 or 2 months ago to be a base which was identified by the company to be economical not feasible.

Rumours - Gotta love em...

Recently heard a rumour that a major base re-orginization coming up will include creating "SUPER BASES" i.e. any European based Pilots would be based out of London, Australian out of Sydney, Canada out of Vancouver etc. No idea on how rosters or patterns would work.

Who knows... Has anyone else heard about this?

... Or this could all be a load of crap meant for negotiations on the forthcoming FTLs and associated RPs. The company could argue that the bases are "unsustainable" unless the it gets its way on RPs. That would be just more of the same, divide (based vs HKG) and conquer... We should be smarter than to fall for this. Will we be???

Mr. Ex Line Pilot Pee-house is dropping many bad jokes around the office about closing all bases. He's dropped such statements in a very inappropriate environment when other normal line pilots have been present. Apparently he has been threatened to the extent that physical action occurred. There will be a day when these Swire royalty payment seeking bastards will find themselves in a very harmful situation. It's shocking that after all the years of abuse the pilot body has experienced in the last 10+ years that these "managers" still slept peacefully at night in their homes, never once an incident. In other parts of the world, these men would worry about their fate for their actions of destroying others lives, no integrity, only greed and "yes-men" actions. There will be a day one of these so called "leaders" don't show up to work fit for duty.

Fact: Frankfurt and Manchester closing.
Fact: Canada closing as soon as negotiations finish.

Fact: Most Australian bases vulnerable, but suspectable to outcome of Europe and Canada closures. CX is heavily invested in Aus flight crew.

London, Vancouver and Sydney will remain as CX "super bases". The rest is done.

Canada closing - Vancouver will be a super base. Isn't that a contradiction? What is it? Do you mean Canada freighter and YYZ pax closing?

You forgot to mention all US bases ...... They close too?? I don't think so.

@Maid Day

I am neither a moderator nor a lawyer but may I suggest you read the Terms and Conditions of this site, specifically the second paragraph and bullet points 3 & 4. This applies equally to your post on the ISM Issues thread.

Well, clearly you are trying to be. Nothing inappropriate in what Maid Day stated in this thread. He is simply the Da Vinci of our time and his predictions will most likely at some point in way or another come true.

No I'm not. I'm simply pointing out to someone, Da Vinci of our times or not, that this forum has a few rules.

And why do you feel the need to point this out? Mind you don't bang your head as you get out from under the desk...
