1200firm. Surely the freighter would operate to the aerodrome rather than the palindrome?

The wonders of Google..

No talent on my part iceman, simply the result of a search when trying to find out what 1200 was on about. However, should the destination come on line and were to be served by a 747 rather than a 777, the following could be carried:

A man, a plan, a canoe, pasta, heros, rajahs, a coloratura, maps, snipe, percale, macaroni, a gag, a banana bag, a tan, a tag, a banana bag again (or a camel), a crepe, pins, Spam, a rut, a Rolo, cash, a jar, sore hats, a peon, a canal – Panama!

Not so sure what would be on the manifest to or from GDL.

There was also a rumour of Adaven, Nevada and Saxet, Texas but I doubt there's any truth in either of those.

Auditorium Session

They mentioned upcoming destinations at the auditorium last week, quite interesting.
I hope you took the opportunity to rub shoulders with JS, RH, NR and "the team", and be noticed by them.

Translated: You *%#@ing brown noser. Why the *%#@ were you even attending their little propaganda session anyway??

When I read the agenda, and saw there was a presentation by the head of cargo (you know, the zoologist who used to be our DFO), entitled "Is there any money in freight", I nearly puked. That one woulda been outright laughable if it wasn't an excuse previously used to degrade our COS!

Unfortunately, although I wasn't there, I was flying, so I missed the opportunity of boycotting the event.

Only one thing you need to understand about these 'info' sessions. They are designed as a form of pablum for pilots. Tell the young ones that there are 'hints' of shiny new aircraft and destinations and they will go away satisfied for another 6 months. Repeat.

That's it really, never actually improve the career in any substantive way, but make the young ones 'think' that there is hope for their futures. Laughable in it's simplicity, but usually effective enough to keep the sheep in line....

Air Profit;

Your use of " a form of pablum for pilots " in post 32 is a little off the mark. I think you mean " a form of pabulum for pilots " which is something different but possibly relevant. The definition of pabulum is generaly consided as " food for thought " but the more correct version is " insipid intellectual nourishment ". Is that what you are saying given due consideration to the word " insipid " ?

It's all in the capitalisation..

Air Profit, had you said, "a form of Pablum for pilots", arguably you could have been correct because you would have been using the brand name, Pablum. As I'm sure you already know, Pablum is a processed cereal for infants and its trademarked name is based on the contraction of the Latin word pabulum. So don't beat yourself up!

However, you do need a grammar check because it should be "Laughable in its simplicity.."
