New freighter destination
I have it from a very highly placed source that CX has signed an agreement to start flying to PTY. The person seemed to think it would be from LAX and did not know the start date.

Agreed. GDL is the horse to back. Everyone's mate, Uncle Nick, made it quite clear this will kick off end-2011, at a regional cgo pow-wow a month or so ago......supposedly HKG/ANC/LAX/GDL/LAX/HKG routing is what's being proposed.

Yes....GDL is in the cards....PTY is a new one separate from that. And btw...I heard from someone who signed on the other side of the document.

PTY is interesting because it could take significant cargo off the MIA route as a South American distribution point.
