Any info on the rosta regarding nights away/home? Looking at the routes and schedule on the company website it looks like nights at home night be frequent?

CFM 56
You would have done at least CPL or ATP, this is only a "technical quiz".

Good luck!

My previous comment was 'tongue in cheek ', I cannot add to what has already been posted.

Captain's Pay

Just on average, how much does a AHK skipper earn after tax?

Not much I'm afraid. If you are topping up a legacy carrier pension or are domiciled in a low cost of living country it's fine but if you have a UK or Australian mortgage that has to be serviced entirely from Air Hong Kong salary then things are going to be tight.

But the 8 on / 6 off roster does provide for a great lifestyle.

Is a type rating required for direct LHS or will 340 command time be acceptable?

Are the 8 days on all out of base or do you sometimes come back through base during your "on" pattern.

Zap, Even if you are type rated on B744 or A300 you will still have to do a full HKCAD conversion course (and be bonded US$90k over 3 years) due the Draconian non recognition of other ICAO state type ratings.

8 days on are mainly out of base but some overnights at your home base on your own dime.

Good call. I'm not sure that it is. It might explain why you can elect to be employed by Air Hong Kong (Hong Kong), Air Hong Kong (Singapore) or Air Hong Kong (Malaysia).

No such luck.

I did the calculations that you'll probably have to spend at least US$2000 a month if you live in either SIN or HKG.

Don't think they are offering PEN as a base.

Is that 2000 to rent a place. Sorry but have no idea of living expenses on that side of the world. Will one be able to live descently on the salary they offer for a F/O with a wife and 2 kids.

Single no Kids.

US$2000 a month rent. (700- maybe 900SQFT) place. Depending on where you want to live.

You'll probably look at another US$ 2000 maybe US$2500 on schooling for 2 kids depending on the age and where you send them!!!

Gone are the days when companies provided a Expat living.
