Chen Tyler Rhodes Kroutil

So when are these twits going to get formally charged with Perjury (Rhodes and Kroutil) and what's happening with the courts going after the other two tossers

Yes it is quite surreal how Swire would let these types "manage" their interests. I wonder if the Swires know how badly these people have trashed their name and those interests? Perhaps they don't care.

Surely by now you have worked out how it goes for the 'important people' in HK. A few slapped wrist's and then a cup of tea after.......there, there, that's better!

On the news last night, a postal worker got 1 year for stealing mailed goods worth about $2000. Apparently it was not the amount he took but the type of crime he committed. Telling Fibs in court, now that's got to be worth more than stealing a few parcels from the post....
As you say though, they will probably just get their wrists slapped. Another fine example of the justice system.

Hong Kong phooey..do some research before you spout such bollocks,,the other Hongs', Jard*nes., Hutches*ns, Mathesons' etc. may have been involved in the transactions that you alluded to..the Swire family were relative latecomers to HK, and in true fashion (replicated elsewhere)saw a good thing and moved in on somebody elses' patch..long after the Royal navy had stopped supporting the opium trade by steaming up river and shelling the **** out of whampoa..

Snoop

Jacobus,

you need to be careful with your history - I'm guessing you have read pro-Swire book's.....

Butterfield Swire setup in Shanghai in 1866, spreading out to offices all over China, including HKG by 1870 - now here is the part of history that you may not have read or chose to ignore:

"Nevertheless, in spite of this poor showing, in spite of the decrease in opium importation as compared with the balmy days, all is not lost. The Crown Colony of Hongkong still continues to do an active trade. In the Colonial Office List for 1917, on page 218, we read: "Hongkong. Revenue: About one-third of the revenue is derived from the Opium Monopoly."

Of course Swire might not have been involved.....they could have been angelic, sweet little boys or:

of the total export Of 224 chests, 186 went to Shanghai

But no, I'm making insinuations here, I hope it's not upsetting for you Jacobus, or is your heavenly vision of Swire going up in a blue, curling, whisp of opium smoke?

Ho, ho, ho!

gobbledock;

You do realize that whoever is behind the character "The Management" is a line pilot, right?

The funny thing at the end of this sentence, called an 'emoticon', says it all: . Children, 'The Management' is not really the Management. He is using a thing called 'irony' to show his other pilot friends what their bosses really think of them. There is no need to call 'The Management' nasty names or be cheeky to him. He is really your friend.

To be fair I think that Gobbledock's comments merely add to the mystique of The Management.

I suppose next you're going to be telling me that Santa doesn't exist.....

Boo hoo!

Yes, on reflection Gobbledock was probably entering into the spirit of irony himself. However I am flabbergasted by the number of posters on this forum who think The Management is really management. A sad indictment on the intelligence of some airline pilots (if indeed these posters actually are).

I must admit the mental picture of someone in management receiving his 'bone'-us on the ninth floor is highly amusing!
