Where is COS08 payscales?
So, if i sign on the COS 08, take the Unpaid leave and get past 55 then I also will get a 20% payrise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It would be nice but I can't see it being correct.
infact to quote NR: "the unification of Command pay for Pax and Freighter pay on the CURRENT B SCALE"
What you have quoted are A SCALE salaries, sorry to disappoint you.

ACMS,
just a shot in the dark here, but are you sure you're not reading the numbers above as a monthly amount instead of the annual salary??! (albeit dropping off the last digit of course!).
Don't shoot - had to ask!

Just a convenience then that the FC recruitment managers husband has taken an early out-of-seniority freighter command and will shortly be checked to line - I THINK NOT!!!

That is it, they are the same. Quote from the schedule where those numbers came from.
"The following salary scale is applicable to all pilots employed on a permanent basis on or after 1st April 1993"
It is what I get paid and I am on Cos08. Trust me, I just checked what my last pay was to make sure I wasn't being dumb.

If this is true, FO's are taking a paycut with COS08. FO4 is a USD 20000 difference between the two payscales and a 3rd year FO will lose USD 59292 over 7 years. Plus taking a 3 week unpaid leave ......

Just worked it out....taking out the first 3 and 1/2 years on the freighter and assuming the two new pay points are the same 2% increase. COS08 is an average paycut of over 25000USD per year over 11 years as an FO, including P Fund contributions. These are based on the USAB CoS99 B scale and the UFO scales wef 01JUL08.

Thanks for the info Scooby, but if I'm reading my COS99 correctly, its a carbon copy of what you provided on COS08, then why is this in the update:
DFO: "....For some individuals a move to CoS 08 will mean a reduction in income for the short term, either in salary or Bypass Pay...."
I can understand the Bypass being taken away from guys who sign over to COS08, but Income reduction?

Let me see if I get this. If you are a US based freighter Captain, you get a payrise and you will keep your US base and fly pax. If you are a US based Freighter FO, you still get to keep your base (as an FO) but you lose money with the new scale, you lose immediate pay with a 3 week UPL and your opportunity to early freighter command evaporates.
Please tell me I am confused.

go to crewdirect and you can download all the payscales as part of the different COS. USAB Unified COS08 payscale is significantly less than COS99. It seems that HKG Pax Unified and B-scale are the same at the moment. Freighter FO's seem to lose the most with the new proposal, followed by based COS99 Pax FO's. HKG FO's seem not to be affected by the change to COS08, at least salary wise.
