The first of those six stored A330-200s has recently been re-activated and flew back to Toulouse last week for maintenance. I think June could be a real possibility. As far as I know the remainder are still stored.

Ah yes, how are the CAD approvals going for that little operation ( no need to answer it's actually a rhetorical question )
No approvals and no A/C, yep, I would say June looking real good.

Moscow Here We Come??????

From the HKA website:

22 Mar 2010

Hong Kong Airlines will launch a scheduled passenger service between Hong Kong and Moscow, the capital and the most flourishing city of Russia, on 23 June 2010. The inauguration of this new long-haul route is a major milestone of the airline's aggressive expansion plan.

The four-times-a-week service to Moscow will be operated by a brand new Airbus A330-200 aircraft with both Business and Economy class services, offering extra comfort as well as enhanced in-flight entertainment to passengers from Russia as well as Hong Kong.
President of Hong Kong Airlines, Mr Yang Jianghong said: “We are excited to operate this new route. As a Hong Kong based airline, we are dedicated to develop the city's tourism and economy. Together with our sister company Hong Kong Express, we provide a multi-destination travel opportunity to travelers from Moscow via Hong Kong to Mainland China and other destinations in Southeast Asia. ”

Taiwan passengers can take TPE-HKG、KHH-HKG or our own RMQ-HKG flights via Hong Kong to Moscow, we provide the other fast way for Taiwan people to Moscow.

I note that the billboard outside KA house says "the end of June". Obviously hedging their bets a little?

Interesting to see that on of the other start-up operators, Cathay, is starting a Moscow service in honour of HKA. Has anybody sighted an A330 in HKA colours yet???

Bila, yep you got me on that one, 1 x 737 in 2 years, pretty exciting stuff, I can just see all the boys over at CX city scrambling for cover and looking for new jobs as the HKA/HKE juggernaut crushes everything in it's path ( or at the very least, taxiis out in front of everything in it's path )

Easy there masturbator, haven't been taking your pills lately have you?

I think what tsimbeit meant to say is that Dragonair started small too and grew bigger and so will HKA. At least that's what I think, as to whether that is a good point to make, well that's another matter.

NgongPing-man

Thanks for reminding me to take my pills. But as smart as you think you are, everyone round here but you seems to know that comparing HKA to KA is like comparing the fungus that grows on the sh!t the dropped from dung beetles anus to Stephen Hawkins brain.

And as long as guys like asian prat remain, HKA will be at the bottom of the food chain............enjoying your 2 minute noodles asian prat? If you hang out at Stars bar later I'll throw you some food scraps, you must be getting hungry.

I see the pills haven't had the intended effect, masturbator. Did I say I agree with tsimbeit? Maybe you should read my post more carefully, or maybe vision is the least of your problems.

You are right Nong ping-man

I checked the label of my pills and it says "made in china, under management from singapore, labored by cheap egotistical immigrants from SEA whose confidence far outweighs their skill"

mmmmmm, recipe for disaster, no wonder the pills wont work.

Neither will HKA. End of story.

Wonder what's happen to Dicky Lai, Dick Stew and Wuwu's!

Happy landings!
