HKA In Court: Decision Today

Best of luck to the pilots who have HKA in court today. Hopefully you will receive a decision in your favour.

The way that Hainan have been wasting money on HKA/E it won't make difference to the red bottom line though!

I heard the court ruled in Hong Kong Airlines favor. The pilots were not granted the gratuity and anything else they were owed.

This country and its legal system are a F#cking joke

If that is true, very sad but not at all surprising
Maybe those should change the name to Teflon Airlines.......
because nothing, even dangerous operations, seems to stick

Grrr Latest From the Singapore Noodle Stand

The A340's are off!!! Now it is going to be B777's that will eventually cower the other Hong Kong carriers into submission to the brute force of the Singawhorean intellect!

Oh, the word is that Mdm. Wu Wu is the next CEO of HKE. Goes to show that any level of competence is not essential in the Hainan world.

The Return of E...

The HKCAD Minister for Hong Kong Airlines was recently spotted doing a flight inspection on a Dragonair flight! I thought that he was thrown out of there years ago?

Seems that the previous management made such a mess that the Singaporeans look good just putting in the basics.

The Chinese are no fools and according to my source in Beijing, they are extremely happy with how things are going at HKA. HKE better shape up or the Chinese will be using the Singaporean cleaver as well.

In my last post, my source hinted how things would be. The Hainan Group has big plans for HK and now I am getting it from the China side that they are serious in getting their HK ops right. As far as they are concerned the Singaporeans have been delivering.

My advise, if you cannot put up with the culture, leave. They will be expanding but they want people who do things their way.

Falconette - stay off the drugs

Falconette, your continuous mindless dribble never ceases to amaze me.

Are you truly serious? Do you realise how stupid you are sounding?

Previous management where not losing $65million HKD a month.
Previous management NEVER forged government documents to hide their F*ck ups.
Previous management had what we normal humans call heart and soul.

If Hainan are extremely happy, then they must be living futher up in the trees than I peviously thought. If they are happy that there are no longer Westerners in their company, then I can understand that.

Singaporeans delivering??? Ha, thats by far the most stupidist thing I've read on this thread.....delivering what? Debts? Low morale? Increase in mumber of QAR's? More spent on training monkeys?

Why don't you heed your own advice and be one of the very few to apply for the airbuses. I would have long since sold up, retired and sipping pina colada's watching the sun go down, you'll be wondering where the f@ck you went wrong.

Don't like culture? What culture? Only people liking the so called "culture" would be aviation dregs like yourself

Mass Debator,

I think what my source told me the last couple of times held out. The present management at HKA has been given the necessary support by Hainan. The Singaporeans are now told to do the same at HKE. I am in Beijing and not in HK so I cannot verify that but from recent posts that seems to be the case.

Chill, life treats you better when you respect yourself and others more.

BTW, am not a current commerical pilot and makes lots more money. I can say when I do fly its' for the pleasure.

777s, mmm now where have I heard that one before The only aeroplane those lying s have'nt said they are getting so far is the A380, but watch this space, I am sure these crack smoking idiots will come up with that sooner or later.

The aviation world is in its worst slump in decades, Hainan can't pay their airport bills and have to get hand outs from the Government ( see, communism does work ) and HKA are losing even more money for Hainan.
Yep, its all pointing to big things happening at HKA

Clowns

You know if the original GMF ( GR ) had a pair of functioning Balls in the first place to stand up to the management then all this crap with HKA would have never happened but unfortunately he did'nt have a functioning pair to begin with thus the continual crap not to mention loss of some really good pilot's and now just read the nonsense

Nothing to do with Communism, it is the Capitalism part of it. I think it should be obvious by now with the financial situation, the bailouts, handouts in the US, UK ... etc.

Great, just what we need, another flight deck wannabe that thinks just coz he travels alot he knows more than those who actually fly for a living. It explains your lack of accuracy though.

I think you've had the wool pulled over your eyes by the
Chinese not wanting to loose face.......its a problem they have, and it'll be part of the reason why China never will be No.1 world power. (other factors not worth going into).

Until they realise the workers are their most valuable asset (not money) they will NEVER succeed, and since that is the mindset of Hainan and the Singasnakes, HKA is doomed to NEVER succeed. They are greedy and selfish and deserve the bad rep they are continuously recieving from this thread.

Do anything NOT to work for Hainan and Hong Kong Airlines/Express

That is Hainan advertising. HKE/HKA is basicaly Hainan in Hong Kong.

If you want to live in one of the most expensive cities in the world but getting less than local pay and conditions with no housing stay at HKE/HKA.

If you want to earn slightly more money (still below expat average) but have no rights whatsoever and be really disapointed when the promised commuting roster and other promises do not eventuate, work for Hainan in Beijing. (why is Hainan paying pilots more in the Chinese mainland than HKE/HKA in Hong Kong? )

Hong Kong is the 5th most expensive city in 2009, and MOST expensive for housing, with average rental prices for expats at $35,000 HKD per month. However the majority of expats in Hong Kong are paid generous housing allowances. Not HKA/HKE.

When Wu and Hainan management realize than eroding away salary and conditions to barely sustainable levels is not the way to long term prosperity, the company will benefit. But the trust they have lost from all pilots will never be regained even if the package is improved soon as rumored (read returned to same pathetic contract as last year). EVERYONE will still walk given the chance. I bet you do not know one person that is not looking to get of HKA/HKE out as soon as the next upturn happens. The trust is gone forever. Morale is alarming low.

Better still do anything NOT to work for either company. You will add years to your lifespan, and you and your family will be much happier.

Good luck with all the interviews and job hunting that many of you are doing. Trust me, life out of HNA and HKA/HKE is bloody fantastic.
