HKE/A

HKE and HKA are the same company to everybody except the HKCAD, who believe that they are seperate, sufficient to allow them to hold two AOCs.

HKA appears to be in it's death knells, even Dick Stew (one of the Singa toy boys) is reputed to be moving over to HKE as DFO. They could fold up HKA at any time, some are even suggesting that it would be a neat way for Hainan to dispose of a lot of debt. As for HKE, they appear to be a little bit better off than HKA.

Time will tell.

Very simply, there will never be any A330 @ HKA. They have most of the fleet parked. Interesting "Papa" seems now have Express painted on the side under HKA...

Heard the other day from a source in the company that they have lost 600 Billion HKD (just under a billion USD) and are losing it at a rate of 50-60 Million a month now.

Grrr Hainan Hands Back A340-600s

I just heard from a friend in CX that the A340-600s that CX were leasing to Hainan Arlines are now going to another carrier. Anybody know which one?

So much for the excitement about A340-600s in "HKA" colours

A law suite ? Is that anything like a lounge suite

The problem with a widebody for HKA is that it will make it a lot harder to try and take off on taxiways, won't it

It (the suite) could also be an "ordered set of instrumental or orchestral pieces" to go with the "french letter".

I believe that an email has been circulated by the "powers that be" that it is indeed preferable to depart from the runway rather than the taxi-way.

Disorganized

This question is for cockpit crew members with HKA/HKE. In my brief dealings with this company, it appears to me they are extremely disorganized, where the right hand does not know what the left hand did. Is this a common consensus?....

The talks about having a foot in the grave is this a reliable rumor???.

Thanks

Attempting to take off on a taxi way!

Well done.. it appears all the above comments are true.. The new kids from down south just can't keep from causing incidents.

Had that happend during the day, well people would have likely died.. And it was the same Captain who the training department wrote that "leaked" memo so many months back saying he just wasn't up to it.

This needs a new thread.. so I shall start one.

Storpikk, your profile says you are home with Mum................you are better off staying there than flying ( I use the term loosely ) for HKA.
99% of what you read hear is 100% on the money.
Are they going down the tube ?? Who knows except to say they are losing 10s of millions a month, you be the judge.

HKAdaily, same place you will find the charts you will need when you divert............in the office at CNAC house.

cheers hongkongfooey...so does this mean that i'll have to call the CNAC office to get directions for my next diversion?

But seriously this incident on the taxiway was bound to happen with the captns previous issues during training.

What I am concerned about is that why are these guys being cleared to line? Does the general public know about this incident? Does the general public know that corruption is rife within CAD and HKA? Is there are higher power that these issues can be taken to (ie make it known to the general public exactly what is happening with the safety of aviation in HK)???

No worries hka
You can just ACARS them or use the satphone, that way they can have engineering and support ready for your arrival
From memory, the figures for TWY A from A11 are Flap5, 135,138 141, TOGA, 160,000.

Also..

Taxiway "A" is a little narrower than your average runway.. You may have a different "picture" in the flare.
