Post Does CX have a US recruitment office?

Does CX have a recruitment office in the US? If so where is it? What's competitive these days? 5000 hours 744?

Drugloard,

Sorry, you must fall in line with the rest of the world, and apply to the HKG address.

IFALPA Recruitment Ban

The International Federation of Air Line Pilots Associations (IFALPA) has enacted a. .ban on recruitment into Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd., Veta Ltd. and USAB Ltd. on. .behalf of the member pilots of the Hong Kong Aircrew Officers Association (HKAOA).

The Recruitment Ban comes into effect for any pilot who accepts employment. .commencing on or after 9 th October 2001.

The recruitment ban has been enacted in response to Cathay Pacific management’s. .firing 53 pilots in July 2001. These pilots, with two exceptions, were terminated for no. .reason and they were denied the ability to appeal the decision through the. .contractual Disciplinary and Grievance procedure. The ban is to maximise the. .pressure to re-employ our pilots whilst the dispute continues. Recruitment of. .replacement pilots reduces the likelihood of a successful resolution to the dispute.

Until further notice the acceptance of a contract of employment as a pilot with any of. .the above-mentioned companies will result in that pilot having his name placed on a. .list to be compiled by the HKAOA. The list will be circulated to all Member. .Associations (MA) of IFALPA for information and any action that MA may deem. .required in accordance with its own constitution or resolutions.

Any pilot whose name is placed on this list will be ineligible to become a member of. .the HKAOA. Such ban will be for life. Furthermore, pilots who accept employment. .whilst the recruitment ban is in effect will be made unwelcome by the membership of. .the HKAOA.

The HKAOA will not provide support for a listed pilot in any circumstances whereby it. .would normally act on behalf of a pilot. This includes Accident and Incident. .investigations, Discipline and Grievance procedures, legal representation in foreign. .countries, etc.

Not interested!!!!! You can take that piece of crap and shove it fair up your hole!!!!. .Get a life, and stop f***ing up everyone elses!. .I notice a fair bit of the same old "can't jeopardize our own careers, so we'll just f**k with the newbies". .Now there's a union I'm just dying to become a part of . .It's that kind of attitude that makes me sick! It's obvious you guys wouldn't know hard work and unjust conditions if they came up and spat in your face!! CX is the reward after years of hard roads for many, it's just a pitty that the few of you who slid your way in after sitting on your fat a*ses all your life are able to make our quests even that wee bit harder. . .WELL NEWS FLASH!!!. .We've overcome a lot tougher obsticles than the school yard bullies suffing from small D!ck syndrome to get to where we are now, and so don't think for a second that your minor tacktics are the least bit threatning. I'm just god damned sick of hearing the whining

Bang! Nice shooting Propsforsmallboys another messenger shot.

Plushundred posted the info on ban; doesn't necessarily mean he endorses it.

Bit short-tempered aren't we?

When I read Propsy's post I thought the same.

Like most guys, I had my CX job gifted to me. I was in dreary Manchester listening to old Beatle albums to gain some inspiration to restart my flagging career, when CX cold-called; begging me to work for them. Luckily for them, they rang at a weak moment as I had tired of sh@gg!ing about with some of the most beautiful women on the planet.

Propsy's CV would look mighty impressive compared to mine so I am sure CX have phoned him already. Perhaps with his adroitness for ill-informed ranting they will fast track him to a Chief-Pilot position

Wonder if Propsy is going to join the ever increasing list of wannabees who come on Pprune and make an @rse of themselves and then disappear into the ether?

Why do you guys fly for CX then?

How are you showing solidarity by giving newbies a hard time?

How about NOT upgrading?

....just a thought, I would not mind at all, the possibility to work for CX when one day I had paid my dues! What do you gain from stopping me from that?

That's the question many have been asking, but when faced with their hypocrisy, they don't have an answer, or are too arrogant to care what people think of them....either way...the ban is b.s.

I don't know if the government of China has any jurisdiction over the operations of CX, but I think the union-related problems are probably the least significant human rights abuses at the moment.
