General Medical Requirements
Hi, I'm a wannabe and am just enquiring about the general medical requirements to pass eventually with an ATPL.
What is the leeway allowed on eyesight?
How fit exactly do you have to be? (e.g. run 100m in under 15 seconds etc?)
Cheers

The Medical Requirements for ATPL are JAR Class 1 and are contained in the wonderful document, FCL3 (link below). As you wish to earn loads of dosh, then you'd need a Class 1 medical.

Eyesight reuirements are discussed frequently on this forum and a search for eyesight reveals all sorts of interesting discussions. One typical discussion goes as follows, although the authoritative document is FCL3:

As far as fitness goes, you just have to be able to stagger from the bar to the crew golf buggy and then from the buggy to the front left seat. Once in the front left seat, you have to stay awake long enough to say to your First Officer 'You have control', then sleep all the way to wogga wogga land!!
