Excel Airways engine blow out

A friend of mine was on XLA's flight from HOG-LGW on Wednesday and they were about an hour into the flight when the aircraft suffered as an engine blow out, they had to dump fuel and return to HOG. They were put up in hotels overnight, and were put back on the "fixed" aircraft to come back last night. They were onboard for an hour, but the plane suffered more engine problems, something to do with not getting enough power. The are still there and are due to fly home on a back up Boeing 747 of Air Pullmantur. As a result there are delays all over the Excel schedule just now, and a 757 was damaged leaving palma last weekend in a thunder storm.

I wonder if the same aircraft would have then positioned out to NCL to operate the SFB on Thursday then then POP on Friday, which would explain the chaos to the XLA longhaul flying program out of NCL this week.
