When are FlyGlobespan's 737-800's expected to be deleverd and what routes will they be operating on?

1st one is due late March. All 3 will be based at GLA and will operate a few flights a week to Alicante, Barcelona, Faro, Geneva, Malaga, Nice, Palma, Prague and will operate ALL of the flights to Paphos, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Tenerife.

Where did you get this information, I wasn't aware of it being available anywhere, and I'd be interested to know what routes the other aircraft will be operating.

It has been posted everywere. GLA will have 3 738s and i think 3 733s based by GSM.

The -800's are coming this Spring and will be GLA based.

The -400 is being leased from Travel Service in Prague according to 'CAA Official Records' and will also be GLA based operating to AGP and PMI every day.

Then there are the -300's wish they operate and also the two Channel one's as well in EDI

What about the -600's ? applications have been made to LGW and STN to operate from GLA on domestics with B736 124y.

736s - That's a new one on me. When you say "applications", I take it you mean applications for slots?

Interesting, could this be the three 736s that are being dumped by AEA!

I did read of 767s for Glasgow longhaul,a stop gap til the 787s arrive. Perhaps a DC10 instead?

Think they intend to take the Canadian flights in house,currently subbed to Air Transat.

Infact, it was B777s they were intending on aquiring as a stop-gap till the B787s from EDI and GLA.
I believe the Scottish TS flights would most likely be taken in-house.

ALL GSM longhaul ops will operate from GLA.

I have no interest in turning yet another thread into an EDI vs GLA argument due to your stupid, unsubstantiated comments, but what you posted there is untrue. As the article in the press not too long ago would highlight.

The Air Transat flights currently operate from EDI too,so don't think it would be any different when Flyglobespan use their own aircraft.

Indeed! I would be interested to know where that came from! Certainly news to me.

I cant see the the canada flights being taken inhouse, as Air Transat sell these flights in there own right from Canada to the UK, and Globespan are the sales agent for most of the UK - Canada flights. Remeber Globespan tried longhaul flights once before with Excalibur and a DC10, and they did not change the Canadian flights to Excalibur. Also the Air Transat flights fly to quite a few UK airports inc CWL, BFS, NCL and EXT. I personally think the longhaul flights will be to non-canadian destination, i heard rumors of LA and Boston along with Australia and South Africa.

I understand they're to operate GLA-Sharm this summer with the 737-800. Passenger wise it's an awful long way in the cabin of a 737!!!!

if you think thats bad, what about Astreaus flying from Gatwick to Deer Lake in Canada in a 737-700.

How the hell are they gonna fill flights from Scotland to Oz and South Africa?

They were selling SYD back in the late 90s flying from Glasgow on Excalibur, from memory it was going to be once a week, but then Excalibur went belly up, and that was that, if they were to launch a weekly flight similar to what Airtours and Britannia had out of MAN & LGW at the right price i think it would sell, not sure about S.Africa though.
