Virgin currently employs about 600 pilots. The aircraft are crewed at a ratio of approximately 8 crews per aircraft, with roughly 1.5 FOs to each Capt. 13 aircraft would thus represent 104 commands and around 260 new pilot jobs. However, it is quite likely that some of the 9 A340-300s will be retired at some point in this deal, which would reduce those numbers somewhat - but the A380 is on the way also!
What joining bonus?
For those of us that do qualify - does anyone know how much the joining bonus will be?

I would apply for for this advert if Airbus 330 or 320 rated as the next step is "Abridged" conversion courses for these types onto the 340 .
mebee a few guys from far east of middle east who want to come back to europe with 340 experience , but not many i guess so next step is 330/320 type rated guys for shorter conversion courses.

As per the third item below taken from the advert placed with Flight International....
As for converting A320/A330 rated pilots, we are already doing that - as well as B737/747/757/767 guys. It may be that this 'Introduction payment' is - currently - only available to A340-qualified people.
