It's Grim At Swansea
Looks like Air Wales are doing really well at Swansea.
Swansea Airport have already statred to offer redundancies for their staff as of October when Air Wales pull out of there completley.
The start of a slippery slope for Swansea ... Again ...?

Has there been an announcement that Air Wales is to pull out of Swansea?
I checked the Swansea Airpport website which now seems to be a mere shadow of its recent self and there is nothing on there about a 6G abandonment.
If this is true it will be a great shame. I remember the excitement and expectancy on the Swansea Airport website when Air Wales made them their base. There were all sorts of suggestions as to possible future routes from the airport people. Obviously they would be expected to be optimistic with 6G showing such faith in them at that time but has it really all gone pear-shaped at that airport?
I take it Air Wales will move its base to CWL if it does leave Swansea.

I have been keeping an eye on this one.
As yet, I don't believe there has been an official press release stating such. However, the grapevine suggests that rumour and speculation has been rife at Swansea for several weeks.
I can't confirm duality's claim that voluntary redundancy is being offered.
I'm afraid that it may be true. The ideas were good re 6G and SWS. Such a shame it never worked.
My condolences to all those who will undoubtedly be affected by this situation, should it be true.

Caramel,
From what I can gather, Swansea Airport Ltd. is a subsidary company of Air Wales Ltd.
MV,
The majority of Air Wales ops have already moved to CDF it's just a matter of a couple of staff now.

It was a brave try and I'm very sorry for any Swansea people who lose their jobs because of this. Work isn't thick on the ground in the city at the best of times. I hope that CWL can give them a reasonable deal as the new base - they deserve to succeed.
