Anyone with information on VAC, accommodation, schools, commuting, etc, would be greatly appreciated. I have checked quite a few web sites but the info is fairly vague.

I'm also desperately looking for info about that exact same thing, started a thread in Terms & Endearment but it has been just as quiet as yours..

In 1997 one of our guys had his family for a while. His daughter was send to the top expat school in HCMC. After a month she came home and said schoolmates were pushing drugs on her all the time... She stayed at home with private tuitors (very affordable). She was 13 at the time and the family used to live in Bahrain before coming to Vietnam...
Commuting - is this a joke or what? Expats are not allowed to drive their own cars in Vietnam - they must employ a local driver!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HCMC today is like BKK in the early '90...

DON'T EVER THINK OF TAKING YOUR FAMILY TO VIETNAM. Better have them in SIN or BKK!

I recently asked my F/O to try and decipher what the viet pilot of HVN 532 was trying to say to Delhi Control - he was as puzzled as the controller himself...
