DHC 8-400 Front Landing Gear Problems

I am surprised there does not appear to have been any debate here about the alleged problem with the nose wheel/ landing gear problems with the Dash 8 -400 series.
A week or so ago the Canberra Times had a front page article about an Air Nippon Dash8-400 making an emergency landing after its front landing gear failed to deploy. The aircraft landed with rear wheels only. The article went on to state that after a series of similiar incidences Japan was grounding all Dash 8-400's for safety checks. Then pointed out that the same aircraft type operated Canberra/Sydney as well as QLD.
Todays press reports another incident in Japan yesterday (Amasuka Airlines). In this case a manual release worked rather then needing to land without the assistance of the nose wheel.
Just curious have any D-8-400 sunnie drivers here had any problems?
