FEAST part 2 questions
Hi,
Just got the letter that in 2 weeks i will do FEAST part 2 but i have some questions about the test.
- They give a theory lesson or is it self-study?
- By solving separation problems they mean planning errors like 2 aircraft at the same level?
- Is it as hard as FEAST 1 ?
Any info is welcome
Thanx

There's a double http:// in it at the start.
http://www.pprune.org/forums/search.php?searchid=574525
Ops and just noticing, even then the link doesn't work :S I think linking to a search id as opposed a thread id, doesn't work.

I rang up Belgocontrol to ask about FEAST 2. The lady explained that it was a computer based series of tests like FEAST 1.
She said that no preparation was necessary.
She said that the tests were more specific to ATC and could probably be considered as less intense than FEAST 1. (Whatever that means...)
She said English would be tested to a greater degree in FEAST 2.
Good luck to all participating
Or should I be wishing that? Next time I'm going to ask how many candidates remain to fill how many positions? Anyone know already?

Concerning english level, I found it more difficult to get the instructions during the test than the english test itself (comprehension)...
Only 3 days of testing next week I think, I guess we might be around 400 out of the 1200 for the 1st test

Good luck 2 u all, as You have been chosen to undergo the atrocities of the Feast 2 -test!
I got the letter as well.
The exact number of people having passed Feast 1 is 377.
Any help with the second test would be usefull, but as most of you know, info is scarse if not non-existent on the net.
Estimated is that about 1 out of 6 will pass the second feast test.
And then off course there is still the medical, the psychologist etc....
Any help would be enormously appreciated, as I personally would like to have a first look at the virtual airspace that will be used during that test.

FEAST part 2
Just for info ^^ It's s "strip" based test ... I mean that you have 1h30 min to read and understand what to do and how to do it ... ^^
You will have a pre-test ... easier than the test itself ... but with a good view of what to do ...
The test will be 38 min long ... ^^ 38 min of stress you have to
- class the strip by time
- discard the strip after the A/C pass over the next airport
- write on the strip the changes that a female voice will anounce to you
- find local conflict
- and the last but nit the least find cross conflict
====> ====>
The figures that i had from Belgocontrol is 1300 inscribed people ... 1000 present @ the Feast 1 .... and that's it ^^
But anyway there is 24 open places for this recrutement ^^
...
the last thing ... Belga suxxs ---- >>> Efflux rules !!!! ^^

Hey! I see that you have done FEAST one already! I am going over to Maastricht soon to do the first stage of testing and wondered if you could give me an idea of what to expect from it!? Much appreciated! x

Feast
Hi to all;-)
Following up the Feast 2 and one posts I just wanted to point out a couple of things about the Feats. I took the Feast examination nearly three years ago on Maastricht, during my firts trip of a long series of "overseas" attempts to become an Atco, being the last one the "high and mighty CTC" at Sawnwick this agoust.
I noticed that part of the computer tests carried out by NATS on the last stage of the process were quite similar to those on the initial Feast tests, or Feast one, in particular that exercise in which the guinea pig, (the candidate) should sort all the squares, triangles, circles, etc.. according to the command listed below on the command screen. Also there was a "Match" key that overrided all the previous commands. in case of matching between the figures.
Just wondering if has been created an application to simulate specifically this type of exercise.
