Why have Seville taken all of the EIN slots? Is it because they organised things earlier????

Any further news on actual aircraft types??

Cheers

dgutte,

Usually during an event such as this the security authorities aim to keep fans of rival teams segregated as much as possible. At a large airport fans may be segregated by arriving at different terminals (at the same airport) from each other. However, when the airport capacity is limited - such as at Eindhoven - it is usual for the airport to host one set of fans only (will probably bulk them out anyway) whilst fans of the other team are directed to a second airport nearby. This minimizes the risk of clashes between rival groups of fans, and eases the role of police and security agencies in marshalling fans to and from the stadium.

This is the most likely explanation for the distribution of fotball charter flights in this case.

Cheers, SHED.

Do you know which airports around Eindhoven they are operating to Orion? Liege and Cologne-Bonn(!) seem to be used, but is that all?

City Star looks a little out of place amongst the heavier metal!

Orion

Hopefully Holgate has answered your query re the spotting locations (not great but maybe Holgate has "other means" of being able to view !)

If you get any pics I would be grateful for copies via e-mail if poss? I now live in Spain and miss good old MME.

So how did the airlift go?,watched all the fun and games from my back garden,..understand there was some bad delays,(over 2 hours),highlight for me was the corsair 747-300,low and slow straight over my house....and the corsair 747-400 holding over the east of the airport with a 321 for company!...just managed to catch the ltu a330, then had to dash to work.
Lets not talk about the match...the fans turned up in there thousands, pity the team didnt...

From what I have heard and understood everything went well yesterday morning. There was a bit of a problem when the A330 turned up with a 747 still on stand 1, that wasn't planned. Have heard that some at the airport have said it was busy but not chaotic. ATC had some fun though with a fly in at EGXU as well but managed fine.
Not sure how this morning went though.

Would be interested to hear how things went in the terminal from a passenger point of view?

Talking

I particularly enjoyed the bit where the LTU A300(?) vacated and held at Bravo waiting for his parking slot which was occupied by a 737 that needed to use the Bravo taxiway (now blocked by the A300)! Cue much confusion, you could almost see the question marks over air traffic

It almost looked like a real airport or a while

I heard that queues for security were ridiculous, which doesn't surprise me considering they couldn't handle the LHR and ALC flights (the only 2 flights leaving) that I experienced a few months ago flying out to ALC.

By all accounts a 747 was in the hold for a good while because there was no space for it on the ground.

I thought DTV did extremely well to handle that amount of flights alongside the normal scheduled flights....and with a very small number of stands to play with, that made it even harder. Many other airports I am sure would have refused that number of extra flights
