TLC in UAE

(p.s. Is that a Breitling?)

One has to admire the RAF aircrew cadre's unwavering commitment to letting everyone know they're a pilot at all times.

Jersey Wool Heavy in the UAE. Respect..

ORAC

The more important question is why would any self respecting pilot take blues uniform on detachment? Packing space is limited as it is without wasting space on such useless crap.

Start the countdown…

We had to hand back our old airline uniforms when moving on or, the airline folding. Security concerns being the reason. A pleasure to have fully winged pyjamas to impress my wife in retirement. Gives more meaning to completing a night duty.
We had a young lady First Officer on the Haj from Java to Jeddah . To avoid hassle from the Saudis on arrival, we gave her a set of six bar epaulettes and walked three paces behind her. Did the trick.

I did line training on a couple of captains converting to the A400M some years ago, one of whom happened to be female, She was PNF on the leg across Saudi back to LCRA, every call she made on the R/T to Jedda was met with stoney silence, but when the PF or myself stepped in the response was immediate..,

Those woolly-pullies looked unnatural, even 40 years ago, like something you'd see on an Action Man doll. I think a lower rounded neck would have been better and as for the 'skinny tyre' that appeared around the waist unless the pullover was tugged down ....
