FAA to EASA
Hi all, I started the process a few days ago but it seems like I have to jump over a hurdle with the whole license validation process. My instrument and multi ratings are not current but wondering if they are considered not valid to EASA rules. I could not find anything online about that. It seems like it is an issue to the agency in my country because I told them the ratings are not expired, just not current, any checkride will get them recurrent. Has anyone gone through a similar process or knows better resources that I can look into?
The agency said that they will be contacting the FAA to obtain validation or verification of my certificates and ratings which I think will say that my certificates are valid. Wouldn't that be enough? I tried to discuss it with them but they seemed pretty adamant that I need to go back to the US, get a flight review done in a twin aircraft and get recurrent for instrument, so I am trying to figure out if there is a better way to do it. |
No need to visit the US to get current. Where are you based?

Jordan. I have heard Saudi and Oman might have FAA instructors but I have no idea how to get in touch.
There is a searchable airman database. Unfortunately it requires a last name but it can search by country once you have a name. https://amsrvs.registry.faa.gov/airmeninquiry/ |
