Do I need ATPL Groundschool to become an instructor?
Would like to become an instructor, to gain aviation experience/knowledge, before progressing my career in aviation. Do I need to do my ATPL Ground school/exams to become an instructor?
I have a PPL, I understand I need a CPL IR with Instructor rating. Is this correct? Many thanks :) |
In order to instruct you need to have passed CPL groundschool and have 200 hours before completing an instructor course.
You do not need ATPL knowledge, a CPL or an IR however, if you only have a PPL you cannot be remunerated. The CPL groundschool is not as readily available as the ATPL groundschool because the demand is less however, courses are now available. |
