How many students?

colleagues
How many students do you consider to be a sensible number to have 'on the go' at any one time. I realise its a bit like how long is a piece of string, but any thoughts would be welcome.

How long is your string Balance:)

When you are getting paid by a hourly flying rate, you never seem to have enough students. :(

When you are getting paid by a wage, then you always have too many students:)

I work for a college that trains airline cadets. All the instructors have up to 6 students each. I personally feel that this is enough. The instructors only have to fly approx. 20 hours a week. So in a forty hour working week, the students get plenty of one on one time (breifing, debreifing and theory, plus approx. 13 to 14 flying hours a month.)
