Flying the C182

Aviation Safety Foundation Australia is developing a proficiency program for C182 pilots in conjunction with the Cessna Pilot's Association of Australia and is seeking experiences of pilots in its handling characteristics, engine handling, operating and instructional techniques, performance, maintenance and any anecdotal information that may be useful for the training manual or program.

It is also interested to speak to experienced C182 instructors who may be interested in assisting in the program or who may be able to offer advice.

What's so special about flying a C182?

The Bonanza Society ran a similar program of flight proficiency checks in Australia. They were quite popular. What did concern me however was that turn-backs following simulated engine failures aftertake-off were demonstrated at these meetings.
It is hoped that any planned Cessna Pilot Association meetings which include proficiency checks for members, do not include this type of "training".
