Minimum TT for FI?

Hi all,

This is my first post so I hope this question hasn't been answered elsewhere, sorry if it has... What is the minimum air time and licenses needed to be able to gain an FI qualification?

Thanks :)

You need to look at LASORS Section H para 1.2. If you want to be an FI, get used to looking things up!!

Minimum time is 230 hours including the Instructor Course. You can instruct on a PPL but you have to pass the CPL theoretical exams and can't be paid without holding a commercial license.
You can become a microlight instructor with less hours typically 150 and don't need the CPL theory exams.

First post and probably never heard of LASORS!

Thanks guys for the input. I hadn't heard of LASORS but it sounds like I'll have to become familiar with it in a fairly big way!
