End of CPL Written Exam
 
The CAA will start a consultation next year that will see an end to the need to sit the difficult JAA CPL exams see link below
The 'industry' cannot get enough instructors (costing too much)

Maybe the Americans will do the same?
Don't they do a practical on-line CPL exam at a time of the candidates choosing. (a lot simpler)

Which therefore reduces the chances further of fixed wing instructors ever receiving remuneration in line with their qualifications and experience.
It is always the same in the U.K. - If an employer cannot get what they want, they just shout louder - increase the size of their sits vac. ad or whinge to their professional bodies about thr shortage of adequately trained and experienced applicants. Eventually something gets done to address the situation (like using foreign workers). The only thing which is NEVER, NEVER, NEVER done is to increase the remuneration offered!

And by the time they get the answer EASA will have taken over responsibility for FCL (2009 at the latest forecast)

Vested Interest (here we go again)
 
One wonders if there will be compensation paid to those who uneccessarily undertook the CPL exams
What we have here is a chaotic mess EASA CAA JAA FAA ICAO and they're all working on their own agenda - in this case with 'the industry' being the driver for the changes in legislation - this industry of course excludes students, pilots, instructors - but includes those that have a financial vested interest
In short vested interest dressed up as safety/efficiency (again) :ugh:
