FAA CFI to JAA FI
 

Hi Guys, Im currently working on west coast USA as CFII {H}and thinking of moving home to london and doing JAA FI[H}.Is there a fast track process or does one have to do the full 30hr JAA course?? I already have JAA CPL complete and have 2200hrs on rotors.I have been offered a full time job in UK as there is a "shortage of instructors".Is this the case ??

Technically you need to do the JAA 30 hour course however, provided that you have over 200 hours instructional time, that course can be reduced on the recomendation of the FIC Instructor to a minimum of 15 hours flying and 30 hours theoreical training. Its not automatic, but recognises yor previous instructional experience.

Thanks for reply.Although I have +200hrs instruction ,I cant find where it says you need that in JAR/Lasors.Any help??

The requirement is to have 250 hours of flight time - there is no minimum instructional time. JAR-FCL 2.335(a) and LASORS H1.11 (pre-requisite c)) both refer to 300 hours but there is a long-term exemption in place reducing the requirement as detailed in Helicopter TrainingCom1/2005. Whopity is getting confused not only with the instructional hours requirements but also the difference between FI(A) and FI(H)

Thats what I thought Billiebob,however I can see how Whopity is confused.Has any body gone this route ,comments and suggestions would be great to hear .Tks
