ATPL Skill Test - Foreign TRE

Hi fellow airmen!
A question neither answered by the pprune search function, nor by emailing to the CAA or browsing through it's website...
The facts:
- UK JAR-CPL
- ATPL theoretical knowledge acc. JAR
- MPA TR
- all hours acc. JAR-FCL 1.240 to 1.295
- working for an JAR-operator, non-UK(!)
Soon I have to pass my PLC/OPC again and I would like to pass the ATPL skill test simultaniously. LASORS G1.4 requires an "authorised examiner" for this test. Does "authorised" mean any sort of "senior" examiner or just "authorised" for the specific TR?
And: Would the CAA accept a non-UK JAR-examiner to sign off my ATPL Skill Test?
Any thoughts? Many thanks!

You will need a TRE authorised by the State of Licence Issue specifically to conduct ATPL Skill Tests. Whilst it is not unknown for the UK CAA to authorise non-UK, JAA TREs for this, it is by no means common. You would need to approach the CAA with the details of the TRE concerned and request 'one-off' authorisation.

I agree; the 'authorised examiner' means a TRE on type, and he should be licensed by the same state as your licence state of issue.
