JAA Flight Instructor Requirements?

I'm an FAA licensed pilot, I just wanted to know what the basic requirements are to become a JAA flight instructor?

Do you already hold an FAA Instructor Rating?? There is a CAA 'GID' on the subject; I don't have it immediately to hand, but I believe that to become a JAA FI(Restricted) at PPL level isn't too onerous for those who already have a FAA Instructor Rating. I'll look it up today - unless someone else can reply beforehand.

If you wish to instruct at an UK approved school overseas i.e. in the states, you have to meet a minimum experience requirement then do a full FI ground and flight test. At this moment you do not need a JAA/UK licence, but that is likely to change.

Where can I find these GID's. I tried www.caa.srg.co.uk but I could not find them. Info is appreciated. Thanks.
