Flight Time Limitations
Is anyone subject to a DAILY FTL as far as instructing time goes?
If so, what is it, and under what # regs is it being applied from? I know there is the 100/28day and 900/12month one, but can't find any reference to a daily limit, specifically under JAR regs. |
Yes if it is remunerated.
Air Navigation Order Article 74. Daily limits will normally be stipulated in Company Ops Manuals, unlikely for a PPL flying school. |
I can't find a -daily- limit in the ANO, there are only those that I have listed in the first posting.
Also, if its a JAR FTO (flight training organisation), then in this instance ANO shouldn't apply. Yes, it should be/is in the school ops manaual, but the aeroclub puts this together to then get it approved by the CAA. So where are they getting the daily limit from?! No there is no daily limit on the number of instructional hours you do. The Daily hours?sectors limit is if your flying on an AOC which you are not whilst instructing.
You are however still restricted to the 100/28 days and 900/1 yr limit. :) ------------------ AP |
It is for the FTO to deceide what is reasonable, there being no other limit. The ANO will always apply because it is the law of the land.

mmmm
can't disagree with whats been said, though the aeroclub says different. 1. its not because of the AOC, its because we're a JAR FTO 2. ANO doesn't apply in this instance its JAR FCL. (I can't find anything in JAR FCL, accept its up to the FTO to come up with FTL) CAA can't even find any damn daily limit either but IT IS in our 'approved' ops manual arrrgh |
The ANO overides JAR-FCL in all circumstances. JAR-FCL is not law in the UK.
The FTO can put anything they like in their Ops Manual, the CAA Approval merely checks that it is reasonable, does not breach the law and complies with the approval requirements. If the FTO wish to be more restrictive than the law its their perogative. Have they taken something from JAR-OPS? |
