EASA Skills Test

Hello,

i have just completed my PPL training in Cyprus and have passed my skills test. My paperwork has been despatched and am awaiting the formal issue of my licence - this May take 6-8 weeks.

Am I permitted to fly solo? I can find guidance on the CAA website, but nothing EASA specific.

Any help is is appreciated as I want to remain current without having to fly with an instructor for every single sortie.

Rgds

You should be able to fly solo while waiting for your licence, just ask your flight instructor..

You can but you need to be supervised by an instructor and cannot take passengers (I'm assuming you're applying to the UK CAA)

Thanks for the answer. No - I'm staying in Cyprus for another 14 months. I've e-mailed the Cypriot Aviation Authority to ask the question - as there is nothing specific in the EASA regulations. Hopefully they'll take the same view as the CAA and allow me to fly solo under auth/supervision as you state.

So long as you don't actually have a licence then you are technically still a student pilot and its up to the school. Why dig a big hole asking the local CAA?

"as there is nothing specific in the EASA regulations"

A temporary certificate cannot be issued to an applicant for an initial licence.

ARA.FCL.215 (Validity period)

(d) The competent authority may develop procedures to allow privileges
to be exercised by the licence or certificate holder for a maximum
period of 8 weeks after successful completion of the applicable
examination(s), pending the endorsement on the licence or certificate.

ARA.FCL.215 (Περίοδος ισχύος)
