Skillstest and training in different countries
Under easa
Can I do the skillstest for FI in another country with a FIE(A) than where I did the course? |
Under EASA yes however; since Brexit a few things have changed and it rather depends where you did the training, if it was the UK then you will have to complete the AoC with a UK FIE. Elsewhere in Europe you can fill your boots except that the UK is no longer an EASA State so if you trained in an EASA State and do your Aoc with a UK FIE, you could obtain a UK Part FCL FI Certificate but not an EASA Part FCL Certificate.

I have completed my training at a Hungarian ATO , but for the last month there has been a lockdown which might last at least 2-4 weeks more.
So the plan is to do the skillstest in Norway with a Norwegian FIE(a) I currently hold a EASA ATPL from Norway That should be okay , correct ? |
The school and FIE(a) is in no way connected.
With the uncertainty of lockdown here it’s a quicker way for me to finish at home. Very unusual situation to be in. |
That should be OK. Make sure you have the certificate of course completion with the ATO details on it and perhaps a copy of their approval.

Do you know where I can find the exact regulation for it ?
I have the course completion certificate, ato approval etc that the examiner I will be having in Norway has approved ! |
Can EASA (non UK) FIE conduct renewal AoC for UK FI?
|
Article 67 of the Basic Regulation
Article 67 Validity and recognition of certificates and declarations 1.Certificates issued by the Agency or the national competent authorities, and declarations made by natural and legal persons in accordance with this Regulation and with the delegated and implementing acts adopted on the basis thereof shall be subject exclusively to the rules, conditions and procedures laid down in this Regulation and national administrative requirements and shall be valid and recognised in all Member States, without further requirements or evaluation. 22.8.2018 L 212/50 Official Journal of the European Union EN Can EASA (non UK) FIE conduct renewal AoC for UK FI? |
Regulation (EC) No 216/2008 is still in force in Norway so article 11 in that one. https://www.efta.int/eea-lex/32008R0216

I did my FI training in Hungary, the skills test with an Austrian examiner (AT license) and that worked out. For me, it was critical to find out what the Austrian examiner expects from me prior to the exam (in my case a power point presentation about a specific topic in addition to the theoretical questions and the actual flight). All EASA examiners follow EASA Part-FCL, but every country has its own interpretation of certain things.

Did you do your AoC in Hungary or back in Austria? If that makes any difference I’m not sure !
Thanks for the replies everyone ! I had already spent a month in lockdown in Hungary so this for sure seems like the best option |
