Type Rating during licence transfer
Hi folks ! I have a question regarding a doubt I had reading the type rating application form. I just successfully completed a type rating (my first one) on a multi pilot jet aircraft. I began the course and done the skill test with my current UK licence( that I still have in my pocket), but I started the SOLI transfer to another EASA country long time ago. During the course, the new CAA called my stating the my new licence was ready to be released. considering that I had no time to go there, I preferred to continue with my UK one. The doubt came out when I read in the UK CAA website the requirements for the TR endorsement, as I found that my medical records must be held in the country where I’m applying to (UK indeed). In my case, I suppose that my records should already been sent to the new CAA, otherwise my new licence wouldn’t have been ready. My plan was to endorse in uk the TR and maybe start the transfer again, but I’m quite nervous about this. I appreciate your suggestions Thank you ! |
I suspect your best course of action would be to contact your new SOLI and explain that you have completed a TR whilst waiting for the transfer and ask them to endorse it onto your new licence. If the UK CAA has sent all your details to them then they will not be able to issue the TR. Your UK licence will be withdrawn as you cannot hold more than one licence.

The thing is that as far as I know, the licence I have got in my hand is the one to be considered valid. So apparently is not true. |

Hey all,
How did this story ended up ? I have the similar situation between 2 EASA member states. I initiated the transfer back in July 2022, started my 320 TR but they did the licence verification like 3 weeks before I finish my TR… what a bad luck. So now I’m a bit lost, if you can tell us how you resolved that. It might help some others. Cheers |
Send all the course completion documentation to the new NAA, and if it was an EASA course then they wil accept it and issue the type rating. Where is the problem?

I was approaching the expiry date of my type rating during a change of SOLI and both authorities involved told me that until the receiving authority issued me the new license, the old authority would remain in charge of my license.
You will then need your actual authority to send a new verification letter to the receiving authority. |

Painful… Yeah the training center have send the course completion form to the previous CAA (which is the actual one valid). A new licence verification will take months… :( Anyway, no choice. Will keep this chat updated |
