Transfer entries from defaced logbook to a new one

In Canada, if a logbook is defaced and the entries were transferred to a new logbook, and in addition, the new one is stamped and signed as certified true and correct by a flight training unit, will Transport Canada accept the new logbook when the time comes to apply for a license? Or will a sworn declaration (affidavit) be required as well?

Actions to be taken when a personal log has been lost are made in 421.08 of the standards. Paragraph (b) states:

The affidavit or declaration shall contain an explanation of the circumstances
which prevented the submission of a personal log and a statement declaring
that all attempts to reproduce and certify entries in a personal log have been
unsuccessful.

It appears therefore to be unnecessary to make an affidavit or statutory declaration when a personal log can be recreated with the information required by regulation 401.08.

Hello and happy New Year selfin!

Thank you for your reply. I admire the fact that you seem very well familiar with the standards. Can you please point me to the online link for the standards? I found a link but cannot post URLs until I have 10 posts.

Also, is there an option to download a PDF version of the standards? If yes, can you please provide the URL?

Thanks again!
