SEP Renewal documentation

Can anyone tell me if when sending in an SEP renewal form, i need to also send in a colour copy of my Passport/ Driving Licence, as well.
Many Thanks.

Kemble Pitts 28th Nov 2019 18:19

No. Just send what it says on the form, which, from memory, is nothing except the form.

Thank you.

If it is actually a renewal (not a revalidation) you must also send a course completion cert, even if no refresher training took place. Your examiner should have supplied this.

Whopity 29th Nov 2019 08:49

Your examiner should have supplied this.
No, it should have come from an ATO/DTO and been presented to the Examiner.

Kemble Pitts 29th Nov 2019 19:37

I should have read the OP, it does say renewal not revalidation!!!

MrAverage 30th Nov 2019 08:25

Sorry Whopity, I should have been clearer. My only meagre excuse is that, in the circles I've always moved in, the Examiner is pretty much always the CFI and arranges the CCC. In fact, I should have said that the DTO/ATO must also send a CCC to the CAA as it's not up to the candidate to do so. I always send it with the 1157 of course.

shorehamite 30th Nov 2019 17:47

I have spoken to another examiner, who informs me that the CCC does not have to be sent to the CAA, its for the examiner to retain, having been given it by the DTO.

Whopity 30th Nov 2019 20:45

That certaiinly was the case however; I have seen cases where the CAA has specifically requested the CCC. No consistency these days.

shorehamite 30th Nov 2019 20:46

Thank you Whopity, i'll submit it just in case.

No consistency these days.
and on some forms even when there is a CCC supplied by the ATO the CAA still want the appropriate CCC section of the form signed by the ATO.... talk about reducing paperwork!

MrAverage 1st Dec 2019 07:44

Shortly after the CCC requirement was introduced, I sent in a renewal 1157 without one (it usually takes me a while to adapt to any change). The notification was "rejected" and only deemed valid once the CCC was received.

shorehamite 1st Dec 2019 08:17

Can you point out to me where the CCC requirement is written, i cant find it in the FEH.

Whopity 1st Dec 2019 08:50

There lies the problem, it is not written anywhere and they make it up as they go along.

Kemble Pitts 1st Dec 2019 13:02

Reg 6 appeal anyone?

Exactly what is the point of CAA wanting to see a CCC FFS?
If the bloke passed the test then he's met the standard, who cares how he got there.

Duchess_Driver 1st Dec 2019 19:38

Unfortunately not, it’s all about audits now. Common sense, and the ability use it is no longer allowed. If the CAA get audited and the documentation isn’t correct as per their procedures then there will be a finding.

shorehamite 11th Dec 2019 17:28

Thank you, it would be helpful if it was also listed in the forms required section.
