FI rating
I was thinking about the idea to get a FI rating and I was wondering where should I go to get it at affordable price in Europe ?
I really thank in advance for your replies FGF |
There is no such thing as a FI rating any more, it is a FI Certificate. A lot depends upon where you want to teach, the style of teaching varies from one State to another, so unless you teach in a manner that is acceptable to a particular school, you could find it difficult to get a job. As a general rule plan to do your training in the State where you want to teach. Saving money on a FI Course can be a very false economy. It takes between 5 and 6 weeks to complete a FI Course, I have seen people who have claimed to have done it in 2 which is a clear indication it was not done correctly. Go to a school with a good reputation, it will serve you well.

Good advice from Whopity.

Yup I agree with the above. I can recommend On-track but beware, there is a shortage of FIC in the UK or just instructors in general. Good for you once your qualified, not so much when your trying to get qualified!

A Rating extends the privileges of a licence in respect of operating an aircraft e.g. Type; Class; Night; Instrument
A Certificate provides additional privileges to the licence holder e.g. Instructor; Examiner |
Just looked at my CPL (yes I'm a CRI not FI, but presumably the same applies). it's listed under "Instructors" in a section headed "Ratings, certificates and privileges", and doesn't actually say which is which.

From Part FCL:
FCL.900 Instructor certificates (a) General. A person shall only carry out: (1) flight instruction in aircraft when he/she holds: (i) a pilot licence issued or accepted in accordance with this Regulation; (ii) an instructor certificate appropriate to the instruction given, issued in accordance with this Subpart; (2) synthetic flight instruction or MCC instruction when he/she holds an instructor certificate appropriate to the instruction given, issued in accordance with this Subpart. |

Sadly, this is a reflection of the times, the cost of getting there is disproportionate to the remuneration that can be acheived because:
I wonder do dentists look for the cheapest course they can find! to the OP, I would be happy to do it in Spain for you. It will take around a month to do. |
