FI Instructor Seminar

Hi Guys,Just looking for some info. My FI rating expires at the end of March and need to do a seminar before then but I am only available in the month of February and the first week of March. Do any of you guys know of anywhere I could get the is done? I tried already On track Aviation, Pooleys and AOPA but the dates do not work. I will go further a field if need be.Thanks

Just a thought. If you meet the instructional hours for revalidation and are only doing the seminar because you're in your 2nd cycle of revalidation, then you can do a flight with a FIE instead - I did that this time rather than a seminar. However, if you're doing it because you need a seminar AND a flight, then presumably you can do it after the expiry of your rating?

Thanks for your reply. I am on my second renewal and so I must do a flight test which I have already done but I do not have the required instructional hours so I must do a seminar. If I let the rating expire I will need to do the flight test again.

Have you tired Central Flight Training at Tatenhill?

If I let the rating expire I will need to do the flight test again.
You have 12 months to complete the Assessment of Competence and the Seminar if the rating were to expire. The rating will be revalidated or renewed from the date of completing the seminar. So unless you exceed 12 months you will not have to do the AoC again.

Hi Mickey, Yes I tried Central Flight Training.

Whopity, Ok but I have already completed the Assessment of Competence before the rating has expired so if I then do the seminar after the rating expires will the rating then be renewed / revalidated. Must the two items both AoC and seminar be completed either within the validity of the rating or after the expiry (but not exceed 12 months).

For renewal, the Seminar and AoC must be within 12 months, it does not matter when the certificate expired. If the rating is valid the Seminar can be at any time within the validity of the Certificate and the AoC and revalidation must be in the last 12 months of validity.

I thought I read somewhere that when renewing by seminar and AoC then the last item MUST be the AoC

I thought I read somewhere that when renewing by seminar and AoC then the last item MUST be the AoC
The UK CAA acknowledged that this is a very impractical situation; therefore they will allow either order and the renewal is based upon the later date.

Soonest Seminar?

Hi Guys, not wishing to hijack this thread but does anyone know of any seminars coming up soon? I have looked at the usual suspects but drawn a blank on timing.

Cheers
