IR revalidation.
Good afternoon Folks,
Is there any other way, other than flying a proficiency check with a CRE or IRE to revalidate my SEP-IR (expiration due in April 2017). The FAA has a proficiency based on your actual IFR activity. Is there anything like that for EASA or as long as you fly once a year with a CRE, you are considered fit to fly in IFR and get in IMC conditions? I couldn't find anything in the EASA 1178 or AMC-FCL. Thank you! |
The only way to revalidate an EASA IR is to pass a proficiency check with a suitable qualified examiner.

If you fly bigger aircraft as well and have a multi crew I/r you can 'cross credit' your revalidation with 3 self certified ifr single pilot approaches and departures in the last 12 months. Still need to get it signed by the appropriate examiner though.
