FIE list

Is there a list of examiners anywhere ?

MrAverage 23rd Oct 2016 12:58

They're in the process of compiling a new one. It will only contain contact details of those who agree to publication of such.

Well it is a list even if there is no indication of where or how you might contact them! Column 7 has the usual omissions! I wonder when they will complete the job!

Column 7 appears to show the first privilege listed in column 8 which provides a more complete description of privileges. Column 8 looks to be correct for the FIEs I know ;)

I wonder when they will complete the job!
I suspect not before they correct several errors as regards individuals!

column 8 which provides a more complete description of privileges
Not in all cases:

"See Authorisation which accompanies this certificate"
As clear as Mud!

I recommend this guy for RT Tests:

218869D Mr PIMSTestAccount1 TestAccount RT Examiner 10/10/2019 Flight Radiotelephony Operator's VHF Licence
Clearly they don't read anything before publishing it!

Interesting, I'm on the list but haven't held a UK licence for 2 years and the relevant rating was expired before I changed state.

ARA.FCL.205 states, "The competent authority shall maintain a list of examiners it has certified and of examiners certified by other competent authorities exercising their privileges in its territory and to which the competent authority has provided a briefing in accordance with FCL.1015(c)(2). The list shall state the privileges of the examiners and be published and kept updated by the competent authority." The UK CAA has complied with the letter of this requirement, why should it go further and publish the contact details of the examiners?

Surely nobody is so naive as to suppose that the Authority is the least bit concerned with doing anything more than it is absolutely compelled to do. The fat controller could not even make his reduced financial targets last year, despite cutting staff to unsustainable levels. He's certainly not going to spend a penny more than he absolutely has to this year. Get used to it suckers - YOU DON'T MATTER!
