FI at one ATO only
I've heard that under EASA FI's should only work for one ATO is this correct, if it is where is the reg in EASA/804

Seems to me that EASA can't control or limit how many ATOs you work for. The individual ATOs however will have to have Flight Time Limitations in their Ops Manuals and will have to have a system to track how many hours you have done for other employers so they can be sure you are not fatigued when you show up to work for them.

What about AOC holders if someone was doing a bit of part time instructing? same issues?

Generally they tend to abdicate the responsibility to you to ensure you are not going outside the FTLs with flying out of the operation.

There is no requirement, under EASA, for an Instructor to only work
for one ATO. But that would undermine one of the objectives of EASA Article 2 Objectives 1. The principal objective of this Regulation is to establish and maintain a high uniform level of civil aviation safety in Europe. 2. Additional objectives are, in the fields covered by this Regulation, as follows: (b) to facilitate the free movement of goods, persons and services; What are you talking about? Whether an Instructor can work for 1,000 ATOs, or only one, at a time - they are now qualified to seek work from any ATO in any EASA signatory country. |
And if they could not
that would undermine one of the objectives of EASA |
And if they could not that would undermine one of the objectives of EASA Just because a French (for example) ATO did not want to employ non-French Instructors that is nothing to do with EASA - who have facilitated the possibility of any (nationality) EASA Instructor so doing. |
