John Duke Eastern air executive .

Sad news that John passed away yesterday from a massive Heart attack. Anyone from the Midlands will know John as an instructor and examiner.

Oh dear, that's really sad news.

John did my last two ME/IR renewals and although I hadn't met him until a year or so ago I enjoyed the flying we did together - which says a lot about his personality and manner when both occasions were flight tests.

RIP John

Having spent some time flying with John over the last few months, this very saddening news comes as a shock. The aviation industry has lost a great man. My thoughts and condolences go to Johns family.

I am deeply, deeply shocked. I see him at least three or four times a week but haven't been in the last two weeks.

John was an absolute gentleman, full of knowledge and always willing to impart it.

It was a pleasure to have known you John, Rest in Peace.

Met John when I was a teenager, he is an old acquaintance of my Dad who will be shocked by this! It has been passed on...

The industry is in an even worst state for losing these characters...

Anyone know which course number John was on at Hamble? I am sure I recall his name from when I trained there.

John Duke, Eastern Air Exec.

Very sad to hear this news :( First met John in the 90's and our paths have crossed everywhere I've worked since. One of the most experienced and interesting aviators I've ever met - always had time for a chat, to listen and offer advice and an absolute gentleman with a hilarious sense of humour.

My deepest condolences to John's family and colleagues.

Another great guy, gone far too soon .. RIP JD x
