Olympics and Solo X-Country Authorisations

Hi folks,

Would be interested to hear how the restricted airspace will affect instructors decision making process regarding solo navs during the olympics given that a balls-up from the student could result in a missle up their backside as opposed to 'standard' infringement consequences?

I'm stuck dead center of the zone (Redhill). I have one student at the right stage in his training whom I will allow solo on his own if he wants to do it. My other students are either not ready or not consistent enough. I don't think I will be comfortable allowing anyone to do a solo landaway though - just too many things to get right and they don't need the additional pressure.

Mind you, I haven't yet tried to fly in the zone myself so I don't really know what it will be like. My first flights are scheduled for Sunday. Hopefully Redhill will be more of a hill and less of a lake by then.
